Pokémon Go is a popular augmented reality mobile game that allows players to collect virtual creatures called Pokémon. Here is a list of some of the creatures you can collect in the game:
- Pikachu
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Bulbasaur
There are many more Pokémon to collect in the game, and new ones are added regularly through updates and special events. Each Pokémon has its own unique set of attributes, abilities, and moves, which makes collecting them all the more challenging and exciting.
Niantic is set to release their original IP, Peridot, on May 9th for iOS and Android devices worldwide. As Niantic has had some failures in their recent slate of games, Peridot’s inspiration from their successful Pokémon Go game is a good sign.
The game has a Tamagotchi-like concept, where players will have a close relationship with their pets by petting, playing, feeding, breeding, and walking them around their neighborhood. Unlike Pokémon Go, Peridot treats your creatures more like friends than tools.
Players will start with one Peridot, and they can breed new ones with other players to make them unique. The game uses AR technology, where players can interact with their Peridot by drawing and tapping on the screen and need to go outside to find Habitats to breed new pets.
Peridot’s graphics are adorable, and while it may not be groundbreaking, it should attract dedicated fans. Although it is unclear if Niantic’s first original IP since Ingress will be a success, preregistration is open now, and players can receive a reminder when it launches.
