Following the expiration of his Manchester United contract, Paul Pogba has been linked with a move to Manchester City.
The midfielder’s contract at Old Trafford expires in June, and the Premier League champions could look to sign him in the summer. Pogba’s time at United has not been easy.
Many believe he has not lived up to his £89 million transfer fee from Juventus in 2016, which was a world record at the time. Others have been irritated by his repeated comments about leaving United and his off-field behaviour.

The midfielder’s contract at Old Trafford expires in June, and United could attempt to sign him in the summer. Pogba has had a difficult time at United.
Many say he has not lived up to his £89 million transfer fee from Juventus in 2016, which was at the time a world record. Others have been upset by his off-field behaviour and persistent statements about leaving United.
“I can’t comprehend how a world-class player doesn’t grasp where he needs to be for a goal kick,” I stated on the show. How are you still talking about finding Pogba’s best position after four years at Manchester United, and can Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) get more out of him, can he add discipline to his game? He’s spent four years there!”
This may be a source of concern for Guardiola, who has a plethora of attacking midfield players who all understand their role. As a result, while the team is attacking, several of his core players are expected to drop back to assist Rodri or Fernandinho.
Pogba hasn’t shown enough maturity in retreating, and Juventus frequently “didn’t trust” him to play in midfield, according to Michael Owen. “Can he do a job?” he asked in March of last year. Yes, he’s capable of performing, but is he N’Golo Kante? No.”
“It’s in Paul Pogba’s DNA to be up there, to produce.” He used to play in a position at Juventus where they plainly didn’t trust him in the middle of the field and instead deployed him on the wings.”
